Ahab:

“All ye mast headers - now hear this!

You’re to look for the White Whale

With a wrinkled brow and crooked jaw -

And a mighty, crushing tail

IT’S A WHITE WHALE I SAY!

“I'll chase him round Good Hope,

and round the Horn,

and round the Norway Maelstrom,

and round perdition's flames

before I give him up”

“Whosoever raises me that White Whale

Shall have this gold Doubloon

We shall hunt Moby Dick

To his doom -

Death I say - to Moby Dick!”

What is this song about?

This song is Ahab’s declaration to the crew explaining to them what they signed up for. Unfortunately for the crew, they had no choice but to follow their captain’s blind vengeance for the white whale.

After watching Gregory Peck’s amazing portrayal of captain Ahab, it was hard not to want to do some type of musical rendition dedicated to his performance - and have some fun at the same time. This is my musical tribute to Gregory Peck’s Ahab.
